51st Annual Meeting:
"Reconnecting in the (Post) Pandemic World"
The 51st Annual meeting of the Southwest Conference on Asian Studies will be held on campus at the University of Central Arkansas on October 7 - 8, 2022. The conference will include both on-site and virtual events, highlighting cutting-edge research and pedagogical approaches that connect different disciplines, eras, and contexts in ways that speak to Asia’s global significance in the past and present.
REGISTRATION:
This year’s conference offers two ways to participate:
On-Site Registration will provide access to all in-person and virtual conference events, including cultural performances, networking opportunities, and a keynote lecture from Current AAS President Dr. Kamran Asdar Ali. On-site registration also includes three meals and twice-daily shuttles from the conference hotel to the Brewer-Hegeman Conference Center on UCA’s Campus. Finally, UCA will arrange one shuttle from the Little Rock Airport on Thursday evening, as well as a return Shuttle to the airport on Sunday morning.
On-Site Early Registration Rates:
Faculty: $100 before September 1 ($130 after)
Graduate Students: $60 before September 1 ($90 after)
Virtual Registration** Rate for Faculty and Graduate Students: $30
**Virtual Registration includes access to all virtual events, including a special all-virtual plenary session on Global Asia(s) and diaspora, as well as a broadcast of the keynote lecture.

TRAVEL DIRECTIONS & ACCOMMODATIONS:
Brewer - Hegeman Conference Center on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas at 201 Donaghey Avenue, Conway, AR 72035.
Conway is easily accessible via I-40, and is located about 40 minutes away from the Little Rock Airport. UCA has arranged twice daily shuttles from the conference hotel to UCA's campus and group shuttles to and from the airport.
Airport Shuttle Times:
Thursday, October 6 at 6pm: Free Shuttle from Little Rock Airport to Conference Hotel (Home2 Suites)
Sunday, October 9 at 8am: Free Shuttle from Conference Hotel (Home2 Suites) to Little Rock Airport
